Bellies Fell Timbermen

For the second Sunday in a row the Jr. Bellies faced the Nanaimo Jr. Timbermen at Queens Park Arena and once more came out on the winning side. Following their 14-9 victory last weekend the Bellies prevailed 14-10 at the Mother’s Day match. The Bellies were led by hat tricks from Eric Lewthwaite, Tyler Digby and Ryan Mckay. Leif Mydske added a couple of goals, with single goals to Brandon Goodwin and Kyle Robinson. Robert Danikiewicz opened his Junior career scoring account with a goal in the first period. Goalie Neil Tyacke was named the Boston Pizza Defensive Player of the Game. The Bellies are back in action at Queens Park Arena on Tuesday May 12th when they take on the Burnaby Lakers. Next Sunday the team hits the road for the first time this season when they travel to Nanaimo for their last game of the season against the Timbermen.
