After four years of sterling leadership from WLA and
NLL 1st Round draft pick Curtis Manning, the 2009
Jr. Bellies were faced with the challenge of filling Curtis'
sizable leadership shoes.
Stepping into the captain’s position is three year veteran
Jarrett Toll. From the day Toll arrived at his first Bellies’
camp many team observers were so impressed with his
maturity, composure and work ethic that they quickly had
him penciled in as a future Jr. Bellies’ captain. Nothing that
has transpired since has made anyone who initially saw that
potential change his mind. In addition to all the lacrosse and
leadership skills Jarrett brings to the Bellies he also brings his
experience of playing high intensity pressure packed games
as a four year veteran with the Tri-City Americans of the
Western Hockey League.
Ably assisting Jarrett are a trio of veteran Jr. Bellies, Assistant
Captains, Brett Mydske, Eric Lewthwaite and Kevin Crowley.
With Toll and Lewthwaite having one more year of Junior
eligibility the Bellies appear to be well set in the leadership
department for the next couple of seasons.
