For the third season in a row the Jr. Bellies will play the Nanaimo Jr. Timbermen in the first round of the BCJLA play-offs.
The Bellies took the 2008 play-off series 3-1 and the 2007 series 3-0. During the 2009 regular season the Bellies won games 14-9 and 14-10, with the squad from Nanaimo winning the last game 12-10. All victories were by the home team.
Given the peculiarities of the schedule the teams have not played each other since mid-May. The numerous roster changes the two teams have made since then should make for an interesting re-match.
Game 1 of the series takes place Saturday July 11th 5:00pm at Queens Park Arena, with Game 2 at the Nanaimo Ice Centre on Sunday the 12th 5:00pm and Game 3 back at Queens Park Arena 7:00pm on Tuesday July 14th. Should Games 4 and 5 be necessary they will likely be held on July 18th and 19th.
