The Jr. Salmonbellies quickly and efficiently disposed of the Nanaimo Timbermen in two straight games, 20-6 and 17-5, in the 1st Round of the BCJLA play-offs. The Jr. Bellies now move on to Round 2 of the play-offs against the Victoria Shamrocks.
Game 1 will be in Victoria on Saturday the 18th with Game 2 back on Queens Park Arena’s wooden floor on Sunday the 19th. Game time on Sunday is 5:30 p.m. Game 3 will be back on the Island Saturday July 25th. If necessary Games 4 and 5 will be at Queens Park Arena, 5:00 p.m. Sunday the 26th and in Victoria Tuesday the 28th, 5:00 p.m..
The 3 regular season games between the 2 teams produced some great lacrosse and very tight games. The Bellies defeated the Rocks 15-12 and 8-7, with Victoria prevailing 9-8 in the final game in this heated rivalry.
After the 1st Round of the play-offs former New Westminster Minor Lacrosse players Kevin Crowley (11 points) and Daniel McQuade and Mark Negrin (10 points each) are leading the league in scoring.
