Bellies Give Back to the Community

The New Westminster Junior A Salmonbellies are very excited and honoured to have received a 2010 Legacies Now, Local Sport Program Development Fund Grant. This grant allowed the organization to help foster the growth of the sport and development of young players in New Westminster.
Junior A Salmonbellies lacrosse players recognize the value of giving back to the community by helping develop young players, continuing the growth of the sport, and assisting themselves in developing their mentoring skills. They are ambassadors of the sport in our community and sharing their passion with youngsters is a pleasure.
Junior A Salmonbellies players Leif Mydske, Mark Negrin, Jordan Catton, Eric Lewthwaite, and Matt MacGrotty conducted a development clinic during the two weeks of the Olympics at Lord Tweedsmiur Elementary School in New Westminster. The clinic focused in on skills development, the fun of the sport, benefits of team sports, and benefits of physical activities. Pictured in the photo are Leif, Mark, Jordan, Eric, and Matt along with students of a grade 7 class at Lord Tweedsmiur Elementary.
The New Westminster Junior A Salmonbellies would like to thank the 2010 Legacies Now, Local Sport Program Development Fund for their generous contribution to facilitate the opportunity for the Junior A Lacrosse Club to provide back to the community the passion and fun of the game of lacrosse, our hometown “Pride and Tradition”.
